Where culture meets revitalization.

Black Diamond Development LLC is an Ohio Limited Liability Company comprised of a group of Southern Ohio developers who have contacts within the region but more importantly, persons who possess a dedication to preserving the history of a very important underserved and forgotten region of Ohio.
Projects
It all begins with an idea and the desire to make a difference.
Black Diamond Tavern
The Black Diamond Tavern was the first historic project for the fledgling Black Diamond Development Company LLC in 2020. The rehabilitation of a 150-year-old building in the middle of a global pandemic showed us we could accomplish just about anything.
Dishon Building Revitalization
These two buildings were named for Rob Dishon, a local historian who passed away in 2020. Although he did not have the economic resources to restore these buildings in the Village of Shawnee, he was able to purchase them to save them from the wrecking ball. The 118 W. Main building houses the first physicians’ office in Shawnee in over 75 years.
Black Diamond Tiny Home Village
Located on the border of Wayne National Forest in historic Shawnee, Ohio, the Black Diamond Tiny Home Village is only the second Tiny Home-designated community in the State of Ohio.
Nelsonville, OH Eagles Building Restoration
The historic Eagles building in Nelsonville, Ohio, is being restored to its original façade. It will house the community’s only hotel with full-service rooms, as well as a hostel for hikers and cyclists in the Hocking Hills region and the Baileys Trail.
The Members of Black Diamond Development LLC appreciate the richness of the region’s industrial history and are striving to bring back commerce and tourism to an area that has been forgotten as the nation’s energy demands changed. There is a new treasure however with the Wayne National Forest and we believe history can be preserved and new life infused into the Little Cities of the Black Diamonds.
