The Black Diamond Tavern was the first historic project for the fledgling Black Diamond Development Company LLC in 2020. The rehabilitation of a 150-year-old building in the middle of a global pandemic showed us we could accomplish just about anything.

These two buildings were named for Rob Dishon, a local historian who passed away in 2020. Although he did not have the economic resources to restore these buildings in the Village of Shawnee, he was able to purchase them to save them from the wrecking ball. The 118 W. Main building houses the first physicians’ office in Shawnee in over 75 years.

Located on the border of Wayne National Forest in historic Shawnee, Ohio, the Black Diamond Tiny Home Village is only the second Tiny Home-designated community in the State of Ohio.

The historic Eagles building in Nelsonville, Ohio, is being restored to its original façade. It will house the community’s only hotel with full-service rooms, as well as a hostel for hikers and cyclists in the Hocking Hills region and the Baileys Trail.

Located next to the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway in Nelsonville, Ohio, where bourbon barrels are housed in restored railway box cars, the Black Diamond Brewery & Distillery serves their craft beer and spirits as well as products from all over the State of Ohio.

Commenced in 2022, the Black Diamond Music & Arts Festival is now a community staple hosting national artists from all genres.
